So what is The Trout Whisperer all about?

Trout, of course. And fishing for trout. And rods and reels. And lines, hooks and flies. And fly-tying and casting. And spiders and snakes. And thunderstorms and lightning. And EPIRBs and repairing neoprene waders and the importance of Polaroid sunglasses. And Ockham’s Razor. And….

Let’s just say it is

‘More than just about Trout’.

Cover photo
Textbook stuff, polaroiding in searing heat and protected from the sun, the ‘Trout Whisperer’ standing well back from the water’s edge to spot trout on ‘shore patrol’. Fish have their 'beat' – even if he misses your fly on this run he soon comes back. With the flyline fully on the grass and the fly just a metre from the edge on the water, this 5lb Brown came past every 20 minutes on its ‘beat’. Three times he refused me. The fourth time my fly was accepted.
